Christina will play Jade St. John, a pop superstar who has always wanted to record a country album but has been shackled by her label to stay “on brand in the pop world,” according to ABC.

And in true Nashville fashion, Aguilera’s character will also have a dramatic connection to one of the ABC drama’s other characters: Jade is the ex-fiancée of former music exec Jeff Fordham (Oliver Hudson).

“Jeff is forced to revisit his past and work with the woman who once played a large role in both his personal and professional lives,” says the network.

Aguilera’s first episode of Nashville airs April 15 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.

Nashville airs Wednesdays (10 p.m. ET) on ABC.

Christina Aguilera and Sienna Miller are getting silly for a good cause. The Voice coach and American Sniper actress are among the first stars pledging their support and participation in NBC’s upcoming live telethon for Red Nose Day, the network announced March 18. To celebrate their involvement, Aguilera, 34, and Miller, 33, each posed wearing the charity initiative’s signature red nose.

Airing May 21 in an event originating from New York City, the Peacock network’s three-hour live telethon will feature standup and sketch comedy bits, musical performances, and celebrity guests. According to Variety, Mad Men’s Jon Hamm is scheduled to lend a hand in the broadcast.

Long familiar with Red Nose Day from its 30 years airing in the UK, Miller is thrilled the U.S. is bringing attention to the cause, which aims to raise money and awareness for those stricken by extreme poverty.

“Red Nose Day is almost like a national holiday in the UK It’s a day of real excitement as everyone looks forward to it and the entire country gets involved in some way,” Miller tells Us Weekly in a statement. “I’m thrilled it’s coming to the U.S.!” Through its massive fundraising efforts, the UK Red Nose Day initiative has raised more than $1 billion to date.

NBC has earmarked 12 charities to receive funds raised on Red Nose Day: Boys & Girls Clubs of America; charity: water; Children’s Health Fund; Feeding America; Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance; the Global Fund; Lift; National Council of La Raza; National Urban League; Oxfam America; Save the Children and United Way.

Who Is Christina’s Secret Weapon for “The Voice”?

Posted By admin On 03.03.2015 » Add Comment (0)

Singer Christina Aguilera is back for Season 8 of “The Voice” and revealed to “Extra’s” Renee Bargh that her secret weapon is none other than Nick Jonas, who is teaming up with Aguilera as her team’s mentor!

Jonas is ready to help Aguilera bring home a win, admitting he would not have done too well on a competition show like “The Voice.” He said, “I would have been so bad. This is not an environment I feel would have been good for me because I get nervous in front of people especially in smaller rooms. When you go and play in front of a big crowd, I feel like that’s easier than being in front of two people or three.”

Nick did say he is “blown away” by the contestants so far. “There’s so many good singers on this show. It’s in the early stages now, but you can already see the potential in these people.” Xtina added, “They’re doing really good. We have a good team right now.”

The two not only give advice to the team, but they also remember the best piece of advice they have ever gotten. Nick said, “Early on, my dad told me and my brothers, ‘Live like you’re at the bottom even when you’re at the top.’ Those moments when you have the waves of success and good times. For me it was about trying to stay as good as possible. It’s been helpful in my life and career.”

The best advice Aguilera could give her team? “If I were to go back and relive things I think I would have told myself, ‘Don’t stress and overthink things. It will all work itself out’ and it does.”

Collider Interview

Posted By admin On 26.02.2015 » Add Comment (0)

In a world full of reality show competitions, The Voice, entering its eighth season, has risen above the rest, due in large part to the appeal of the music superstars that are in the judges’ chairs, every season. Granted, the artists vying for spots on the show are incredibly talented, but their coaches are undeniably at the top of their game and can provide a wealth of advice and support until it’s up to America to pick the ultimate winner.

This season, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams and Christina Aguilera will be battling it out amongst each other to put together teams of the strongest vocalists from across the country. During a recent conference to promote the new season, the foursome talked about what it takes to find a winning contestant, learning from each season, whether it’s significant that the show hasn’t had a real break-out artist, making sure your singing sounds as good as possible, rebuilding confidence in such a tough business, and why this show is enjoying continued success when their competitors have struggled.

Christina and Pharrell, what are you guys going to do this year to beat Adam and Blake?

CHRISTINA AGUILERA: With different coaches, you get different flavors and different styles and different talent that come on the show. I’m always like, “Okay, maybe this time.” I know these guys have been on for eight seasons. And then, I wasn’t on the season that Usher actually won. Honestly, I just want to have a good time, listen to great singers and great music, and just use my instincts, as usual. Everything happens for a reason. I’m sure that my time will come. But, it’s not just about us. It’s great that you can share and feel proud of somebody that you’ve supported through this journey, which is crazy and it’s a lot of work for them, and you get to see what they go through. It’s a competitive format, which I love and hate. I don’t like music to be so competitive. But it’s exciting and it’s a great training ground to prep them for what comes in the future, once they are not on the show. It’s an amazing training camp, in general.

PHARRELL WILLIAMS: We’ll continue to fight. You’ve got to fight.

AGUILERA: Somebody’s going to take it.

WILLIAMS: Adam is so swift. And Blake is so convincing. Aside from their experience, they’re just really talented people who have done really well, in their own careers. Artists are going to listen to them, so we just have to continue to fight. I haven’t won, but I have enjoyed it so much. You see these kids light up when they see something different in themselves. Not that you brought out, but you may have just pointed at it, and they see it and are able to retrieve it and take it to another level. That, in itself, is a win for me, but it doesn’t win the show. I remain content with that, but I also remain winless.
